Experience Partners for Community and Character
We are working to create a courageous community that inspires, exhibits, and practices good character.
At PCC, positive character traits are always at the forefront of what we’re working together towards. Our programs and activities are designed to be a catalyst to promote character. Learn more about the positive impact we have and join us in bringing about positive change.
Our History
In December 1995, Paul Minus received a phone call from Ella Moore, a staff leader in the Worthington School District. She wanted to know if he would be willing to help raise financial support for the Worthington Schools’ student mediation program.
A group of community leaders gathered by Minus agreed to raise funds for this program. But the more they thought about it and talked with the teachers, principals, and students involved, the more they realized the need to understand the underlying reasons for conflict. It was determined that conflict resolution was at the “tip of the iceberg” and more attention needed to be directed to the “whole iceberg” that was there beneath the surface. As a result, that small group of community leaders began to look at the entire issue of behavior and values among students today.
Over 70 volunteers worked tirelessly on three work teams from 1995 – 1997 to bring to fruition PCC as an incorporated Not for Profit 501 3C, under Ohio Revised Code accomplished by February 12,1997. The teams provided an important report of their findings to Worthington City Council and the Board of Education, which was well received and supported. PCC has been operating since then to continue to build an even stronger and better Worthington community.
